Over their fifty-year history, McCarthy Panel Works has grown and evolved, but their foundational virtues are uncompromising; no concession of quality because the job is always done right.
Opening all the way back in 1971, McCarthy Panel Works has always been a family, even right from when Craig’s parents opened the doors, quality and customer service were paramount. Their son Craig, took the reins in 1988, having grown up in the workshop and around cars, and he continued the legacy of his father with the help of his wife, Andrea. Both have taken the business to new heights, whilst keeping its bearing heart of family values and excellent service alive.
A small modest building existed in those first few years when Ted and Lorraine ran the shop. It has expanded into something they couldn’t believe. The business now comprises the original shed, which more than doubled with additions, an immense building out the back here the painters work tirelessly, and a new, upcoming building across the street which will house McCarthy’s office, aluminium, electric and hybrid vehicle workshop.
“How it all came together and what we have been able to achieve since those days, it’s astounding,” Andrea McCarthy said. “To keep it going that long, it’s helped us to understand the importance of what it means to the community as well.”
Foundations for Success
Their integrity has been their pride and it’s the reason that they do mean so much to the community. Andrea and Craig have seen entire families, spanning three generations, come and seek the expert service they provide.
The reason that McCarthy’s is so enduring is their exceptional ability to evolve. Craig has been a fount of ideas, creative approaches, and consistency in his craft that has always kept them ahead of the curve. In 2013, their achieved I-CAR Australia Gold Class status – the very first repairer in the country – and it allows them to stay abreast of specific training needed for the latest model of cars. …
